What Would You Do? The right candidate will be responsible for the lifecycle management of used vehicle inventory—from arrival through reconditioning to lot readiness. Working under the direction of the Used Car Manager, this position ensures timely and accurate tracking, preparation, and display of all used vehicles. This includes coordinating reconditioning work, managing documentation, updating inventory systems, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong attention to detail, and actively contributes to a clean, organized, and appealing sales lot that reflects the high standards of the dealership. This position is responsible for nurturing and cultivating a positive culture and work environment that aligns with the mission and values of the organization.
What will you be responsible for?
Vehicle Intake & Documentation
- Receives and processes incoming used vehicles, trade-ins, and purchases.
- Ensures accurate check-in procedures, including logging vehicles in Velocity, Key-Track, and dealership software.
- Pulls vehicle history reports, window stickers, and buyer’s guides for each unit.
- Coordinates with vendors and service departments to assess, approve, and schedule reconditioning work (paint, dents, glass, interior, etc.).
- Tracks vehicle status through recon software and works to maintain target turnaround times.
- Transports vehicles between locations (e.g., Truck City) and to emissions testing as needed.
- Ensures vehicles are photo-ready and photographed upon arrival.
- Works with the sales team to line up vehicles for daily lot walks and customer visibility.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and appealing lot layout; assists in merchandising as needed.
- Keeps inventory records updated in the dealer management system (DMS) and online platforms.
- Monitors and completes necessary edits and updates in inventory software.
- Participates in lot walks and sales meetings as scheduled.
- Remains on call for the Used Car Department to support ad hoc needs throughout the day.
- Supports a positive, mission-aligned workplace culture through teamwork, flexibility, and accountability.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
What is the necessary education & experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate or bachelor’s in business or related field is preferred.
- 1+ years prior experience in automotive operations, inventory, or recon preferred.
