What Would You Do? The right candidate will be responsible for  supervising  Technicians to drive efficiency and productivity to align with company values and improve customer satisfaction by assisting them in diagnosing mechanical difficulties and recommending needed repairs. They are well-versed in product offerings, inventory needs, technician scheduling, and customer service. This position is responsible for nurturing and cultivating a positive culture and work environment that aligns with the mission and values of the organization.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Oversees and assures complete and continued training and work efficiencies of Service Technicians and reviews monthly hour goals and results with them.
  • Plans, organizes, leads, and controls the service department's flow in a professional, timely manner while ensuring quality repairs.
  • Oversees all activities in the shop, from receiving parts and equipment to usage in vehicle repairs/maintenance.
  • Assists in recruiting, hiring, supervising, and scheduling of Technicians.
  • Works with the Service Manager to develop and uphold processes that maximize efficiency, workflow, and manage the Technicians and schedule repairs, and quality of work performed.
  • Inspects and, if necessary, road tests vehicles upon completion of work to ensure quality of repairs performed.
  • Oversees shop safety practices and coordinates injury reporting with the Service Manager.
  • Assists the Service Manager with scheduling, time off management, and reporting to assure a productive shop that provides a great employee and customer experience.
  • Diagnoses and repairs vehicles to specifications, ensuring they are safe to drive.
  • Test drives vehicles and tests components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
  • Examines vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
  • Completes accurate notes/records on RO in DMS.

Do you have the necessary education and experience?

  • High school degree or equivalent required, automotive trade or technical school preferred.
  • ASE certification is required.
  • 3+ years of diesel truck Technician experience required, Isuzu experience preferred.
